WEEK 1 - LOOKING TO THE PAST
I viewed all four video resources in order to understand more the concept being proposed to us. In order to get my head around it i felt to start with breaking down what Utopia and Dystopia are to me in the context of digital culture and education.

Although both Utopia and Dystopia are opposing extremes of each other, I cannot but sense that one is not better than the other. Utopia is seeking to improve upon, creating a highly desirable outcome or ideal. This striving and constant improving is directed outside of ourselves in terms of technological advancements as portrayed by Bendito Machine III which in turn leads to the Dystopia.
In the seeking of Utopia it would seem we
inevitably end up in Dystopia.
Could it be possible that we are chasing our tails?

What i can gather is that we are seeking to improve, refine and better our technological advancements but at the cost to ourselves as human beings.
We seek outside to improve but negate looking within to truly connect with ourselves.

Could it be possible that we have used technology to be clever and advance rather than connect to the wisdom from within and and to use technology  from that wisdom?

Could it be then, that we have focused on what is outside of us rather than focusing on the development and evolution of ourselves as individuals and as humanity?
